- Vacuum on a regular basis and use doormats at entrances.
- Protect your carpet from direct sunlight by installing curtains and blinds on windows.
- Place felt pads under your furniture legs and move the furniture around from time to time to make sure that pile won't stay compressed irremediably. Use protective mats under furniture with casters.
- Sponge up quickly any spill.
- Consider regular professional cleaning to extend life and freshness of your carpet. A professional cleaner can also repair burns and other damages.
- To maintain stain resistance, do not use disinfectants (e.g. Lysol), insecticides or fungicides (e.g. Sylguard).
- The detergent pH level should not be over 10. A very alkaline detergent can clean deeply but will reduce the stain resistance.
- Do not use foam cleaners or rotary brushes.
- Clean rapidly any stain or spill to extend your carpet lifetime and keep it looking neat.
