It was in August 1979 that the R. Magnan & Fils business moved to 5626, boulevard des Forges in Trois-Rivières, thanks to Mr. René Magnan and his wife Lucie. They build a solid reputation at the store due to impeccable customer service, very high quality floor covering products and flawless installation. Then, in 2009, the long-awaited succession arrived through Steve and Mélanie Mailhot. The impact of the new owners of Couvre-Planchers Magnan inc. is felt from the first moments. They modernize the company by integrating technologies that facilitate operations and shape the store in their image. In addition, shortly after their arrival, services for customers in the commercial sector are added to the store's service offering. In 2010, in order to offer more options to its loyal customers, Couvre-Planchers Magnan inc. joined the ranks of the Flordeco banner, a group of nearly 45 stores located across Quebec. Then, in 2019, on the eve of its 40th anniversary, the showroom was completely revamped, making way for a unique and fully personalized customer experience.

In 2021, Steve returns to his first love and becomes a ceramic installer again, a profession where the pace of work better suits his vision of the future. Mélanie Mailhot therefore becomes the sole owner of Flordeco Magnan and, by the same token, will become president, a role she has already assumed for the most part in the last decade.
